Unitron are a Canadian hearing aid manufacturer with more than 40 years experience. Their UK base is in Warrington where all custom products are designed using 3D software before being laser made to high precision.

The new Unitron Passport and Latitude were launched late 2009 and use the CORE microchip technology which is capable of over 100million calculations per second! The features are very much the same as the previous Next and Yuu products, but with microchip twice as powerful. The Passport brings Unitron into real contention with the other leading suppliers premium level hearing aids.

The highlight of the new launch was the Unitron FUSE. A one-size-fits-all completely-in-the-canal (CIC) hearing aid that can be instantly fit to most people with a mild to moderate hearing loss. This new concept CIC hearing aid is very small giving almost invisible results and has an articulated joint mid-way which allows it to curve into the ear with maximum comfort, and the double vented design means occlusion is a thing of the past. Unitron Passport - This superb top range hearing aid is Bluetooth compatible enabling wireless communication between a multitude of audio devices including MP3 players, mobile phones, landline telephones, laptops, PC's, and any other device that has an audio output. The Unitron Passport has 'binaural synchronisation' which means the left and right hearing aids talk to each other and simultaneously alter when volume and programme changes are made on one side only - this overcomes confusing moments trying to match up the beeps of yesterdays hearing aids. The Passport includes the latest technology expected in top-range hearing aids including 20 channels, multi-channel adaptive directionality, speech enhancement, noise reduction, wind reduction, echo stop, sound damping and with the Smart Control remote control device we also have comfort - clarity balance to allow the user to control if speech is enhanced or noise is reduced depending on the environment they are in.

Unitron Latitude (4, 8  and 16) - The Latitude represents the mid-range selection of hearing aids available from Unitron and now operates on the CORE microchip platform offering some of the best features currently available. The Number represents the number of channels available in each model (4, 8 or 16) and the higher the number the more features incorporated in the hearing aid. Generally speaking the more features the better the hearing aid can cope with background noise, and the more suitable the aid for people in demanding environments.

Unitron Next E - This is a basic level 4 channel digital hearing aid with automatic volume control perfect for clients looking for easy to use digital technology to suit easy going lifestyles or tighter budgets. The Next E uses the older microchip platform and therefore isn't as powerful as the Latitude.

Unitron Shift - The name simply represents the STYLE of the hearing aid - it is a new stylish RIC (receiver-in-the-canal) hearing and is available in all levels of the 'Latitude' range and the Passport top-end hearing aid. The Unitron Shift runs on a size 10 battery and is amongst the smallest and best looking of all the RIC hearing aids offered by the worlds leading suppliers of hearing aids, with the added advantage of a programme button, extra versatility over the Phonak Audeo and Oticon Dual. The Unitron Shift is remote control compatible working in unison with the 'Smart Control' and also has a telecoil feature which many other RIC's sacrifice for minimal size. See image below.
