The latest development in digital hearing aids adopting
open fitting technology giving an ultra-smooth
sound signal for maximum speech
clarity for clients who have a

and looking for a discrete
comfrotable solution. Includes the Widex Passion,

OTE & Mini-BTE
(On-the-Ear/Open-Fit)

A discreet
hearing aid for clients with high
frequency hearing loss who miss
speech clarity in group
conversations. Advanced feedback
suppression technology avoids
irritating whistling problems common
with vented ITE hearing aids.
Includes the Phonak Exelia
Micro and
Widex M.

CIC
(Completely-in-the-Canal)
Image |
The smallest
in-the-ear hearing aid suitable for
mild-moderate losses and offering
maximum discretion. Some digital
technology is
sacrificed due to the limited
space required for the
circuitry. Siemens now offer a high
power CIC for more severe losses
called the 'Nitro'.

MIC / ITC
(Mini / In-the-Canal)
Image |
Slightly larger
than the CIC hearing aids
but with improved
performance for speech in noise
due to the extra features available including dual microphones,
Bluetooth™ (Phonak Exelia, Oticon
Epoq, Siemens Pure), and Telecoil loop.

ITE
(In-the-Ear)
Image |
The largest of the in-the-ear
hearing aids often called 'full
shell' & 'half shell' offering more
power for clients with more
severe hearing losses who don't want
to wear behind the ear hearing
aids.. |

BTE
(Behind-the-Ear)
Image |
Traditional style hearing aids
fitted with an earmould (generally
silicone or hard acrylic).
Modern BTE's now have sleek
multi-colour designs such as the Oticon
Epoq and the Phonak
Micro-Savia and incorporate much
higher specification technology than
those available from the NHS, |

Other
