Siemens hearing aid portfolio comprises the 3 style options detailed below, spread over four technology levels - the 101, 301, 501 and 701.

THE 3 MAIN STYLES

  • Siemens Pure - a receiver in canal hearing aid (know as a RIC or RITE). The Siemens Pure is one of the neatest designed RIC's available, giving easy maintenance, durability and discreet results. The design is truly flawless, and whilst the technology included in the Pure 701 is definitely high end, the the feedback manager lacks what some of the other manufacturers can offer, which consequently means we don;t have as many successful fittings with the Siemens Pure. The Siemens Pure is a rechargeable hearing aids obviating the need for regular battery changing.
  • Siemens Life - a slim tube bte, normal fit as an OTE (open fit hearing aid). Slim-tube fittings pre-date RIC's as the original open-fit solution. In our opinion there is no real benefit of opting for a slim-tube solution if a RIC suits your hearing loss. With teh Siemens life and other open slim-tube hearing aids the speaker is housed in the actual hearing aid body, sat on / behind the ear, as opposed to the speaker being on the end of a thin wire sat in the ear canal.
  • Siemens Motion - includes the traditional in-ear hearing aids (ITE's / ITC's / CIC's) and old style BTE's. All Bluetooth compatible including the CIC's, but please note due to the extra components the CIC's may come out bigger than true CIC's depending on the ear canal size.

Siemens TEK and Mini-Tek - The original TEK was one of the first Bluetooth streamer available and this is quite evident in its old school design. The new mini-TEK however is a lot more desirable and brings Siemens into line with the other leading suppliers. The mini-TEK has key benefits - it has a telecoil for transmitting loop signals, it can stream two phones simultaneously and is a dual purpose remote control / bluetooth streamer at a muc lower price than other suppliers.

Also included in the Siemens hearing aid portfolio are the:

Siemens iMini - this is a new development by Siemens which incorporates extra small components allwoing them to produce extra small CIC hearing aids for mild / moderate hearing losses. Suitability of the Siemens iMini is very much dependent on the size of the ear canal. (image)

Siemens Nitro - a full range of in-ear and behind-ear models which house extra powerful speaker units to cope with severe to profound hearing losses. Note, some technology may be sacrificed in a Nitro compared to the styles above in order to house the larger speaker. Please check you are not missing out on some of the advanced features of the Motion or Pure range.

Siemens Aquaris - a new option from Siemens; the Aquaris is a redesign of there BTE's offering waterproof capability down to 1m depth using a special sealed housng and microphone / speaker protection. An excellent option for people who sail as a hobby. More info here.
