Unitron Hearing Aids
Unitron are a Canadian company with more than 40 years experience developing and manufacturing hearing aids. Their UK base is in Warrington where all custom products are designed using 3D modeling software before being made to high precision using laser moulding technology.
Their latest premium range of hearing aids are branded under the tag 'Quantum' which is available in various ITE, RIC and BTE styles at 3 technology levels. The Quantum was launched June 2011 and uses the new 'ERA' microchip which has 16 million transistors capable of over 200million calculations per second.
This chipset develops on the idea of wireless connectivity
, but with twice as much processing power twice as its predecessor. The Quantum was upgraded to the Quantum Pro in April March 2012 and brings Unitron into real contention with the other leading global suppliers of premium digital hearing aids.

Unitron simplified their digital hearing aid portfolio in June 2011, making it logical and easier for customers to understand.
Unitron now have 4 levels of hearing aid available in all normal hearing aid styles (ITE / ITC / BTE and RIC).
Unitron Quantum Pro - The Quantum Pro 20 is a superb top-range hearing aid which is Bluetooth compatible enabling wireless communication between a multitude of audio devices and incorporating the latest 'binaural spatial mapping' technology which tries to simulate what the real ears are doing by communicating between left and right and analysing the results as a whole rather than individually. The Unitron Quantum also incorporates 'binaural synchronisation' which means the left and right hearing aids talk to each other and simultaneously alter when volume and programme changes are made on one side only - this overcomes confusing moments trying to match up the beeps of yesterdays hearing aids. With the Quantum being available at 3 levels of technology there is a model to suit everyone's needs and budget. Unitron Moxi Pro - The name simply represents the style of the hearing aid - it is a new stylish RIC (receiver-in-the-canal) hearing and is available in all levels of the Quantum range. The Unitron Moxi is a wireless compatible hearing aid offering full functionality and excellent cosmetics whilst also incorporating a telecoil and being remote control compatible. Unitron Wireless Hearing Aid Accessories
Showing above the Smart Control (see below for details), the uDirect / UDirect2 wireless accessories which can be connected to Bluetooth enabled phones and to the uTV / uTV2 for streaming television audio signal in stereo directly into your hearing aids.
Remote Controls - Unitron Quantum hearing aids are now compatible with three remote control's as follows:
- The Smart control is an older model but features a 'learn now' button which allows the user to save their preferred volume settings for each programme.
- a newer design effectively replacing the Smart control, except for those wanting the 'learn now' feature.
- This is a dual purpuse combined streamer / remote control, and as such means you can stream and control your hearing aids with one device. Note hoever, the UDirect2 is a more basic remote control.Micro-CIC's are not remote control compatible.
