Unlike many other TV streaming devices, the TV-DEX offers ultra-low latency and exceptional sound quality, ensuring perfect synchronization between audio and video. Its simple design and neck-worn base make it compatible with a wide range of Widex hearing aids, including non-Bluetooth models. This device is ideal for anyone who wants an immersive TV experience without compromising on comfort or disrupting others in the room.

Key Features

  • Direct Audio Streaming: Streams audio from your TV directly to your hearing aids for clear and immersive sound.
  • Ultra-Low Latency: Ensures perfect synchronization between audio and video for a seamless viewing experience.
  • Room Off Function: Temporarily mutes external sounds so you can focus entirely on the TV audio.
  • Portable Base Unit: Wear the lightweight neck unit for easy connectivity and mobility around the house.
  • Rechargeable Battery: Provides up to 10 hours of continuous use on a full charge.
  • Wide Compatibility: Works with most Widex hearing aids, including non-Bluetooth models (except CIC-Micro).
  • Multiple Input Options: Connects to TVs via optical Toslink, RCA, or 3.5mm jack connections.

How to Use the Widex TV-DEX

1. Setup

  • Connect the base station to your TV using one of the provided cables (optical Toslink, RCA, or 3.5mm jack).
  • Plug the base station into a power outlet using the included adapter.
  • Place the base station near your TV for optimal performance.

2. Pairing with Hearing Aids

  • Turn off your Widex hearing aids by opening their battery doors.
  • Place your hearing aids within 1 meter (3 feet) of the base station.
  • Press the pairing button on the base station until its LED indicator flashes. Your hearing aids will automatically connect, and you’ll hear a confirmation tone.

3. Streaming Audio

  • Once paired, any audio played on your TV will stream high definition, echo free, stereo sound directly into your hearing aids.
  • Use the neck-worn remote unit to control volume or activate features like Room Off.

4. Room Off Function

  • Press the Room Off button on the remote unit to temporarily mute external sounds and focus solely on the streamed audio. Press it again to reactivate external microphones in your hearing aids.

5. Charging

  • Place the neck-worn remote unit back onto its charging dock when not in use. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours and provides up to 10 hours of use.

Extra information

Widex TV Dex comes in two parts:

Part 1 – is the base unit part that connected to an audio output of the TV (or other streaming device, SKY etc). Part 1 streams the TV signal to part 2.

Part 2 – is the remote control device which is positioned close to the user. It is rechargeable and charges when placed in Part 1. Part 2 streams the signal to the hearing aids. Part 2 can be used to adjust the streamed volume independently of the TV volume.  Part 2 can work with multiple Part 1’s – hence the option of buying more base units.

Working range: Part 1 and 2 must be within 30 feet. Part 2 must be within 3 feet of the hearing aids – it can be worn with a neckloop. If the devices are outside this range the audio signal may be intermittent.

Important Notes:

This device comes with two audio connector options (a scart connector, and a red/white phono cable) – it does not have a Toslink connection. If your TV only has a Toslink audio output then you will need to buy a ‘Digital to Analog Audio Converter’.
