The foundation of the brand began with Siemens Hearing, a pioneer responsible for significant early advances in electronic sound amplification. In 2015, Siemens Hearing transitioned into Sivantos Limited, which subsequently rebranded the modern consumer hearing portfolio under the name Signia.

In 2019, Sivantos united with Danish hearing manufacturer Widex to form WS Audiology. As one of the world's largest hearing aid conglomerates, WS Audiology combines shared research, global laboratory resources, and clinical software development. While operating under unified parent innovation, Signia and Widex remain distinct hearing brands with separate sound philosophies and product lines.
